The Lakeland Cycle Club was formed in Enniskillen in 1985, and the original member-base of 5 included – among others – Pat the bike Clarke. We recently celebrated our 20th year with members past and present and the club continues to go from strength to strength.
Although the club now has a racing backbone, we cater for all ages and abilities. Our road-races are time-handicapped, and we also partake in charity and leisurely community rides. We aim to promote cycling as a healthy and enjoyable activity for all.
The club colors are blue yellow and white, and we are on the third version of our kit.
The number of junior and female riders has increased significantly in the past 5-10 years, and long may that trend continue. We have national champions right through the ranks, from All-Ireland Junior through Ulster Veteran titles.
Numerous local triathletes have joined our club over the years to improve their riding and racing skills and some have gone on to represent Ireland all over Europe.
More club history to come when I get it!
