Road Race

The club runs a Club Road Race usually between March and September, and races take place on Wednesday nights at 7pm. They are usually time handicapped with a front group ideal for those new to racing, a middle group for those who have a level of experience and then an elite group known as “scratch”. Time gaps depend on the course distance and terrain on the night.

There are a wide mixture of courses that cater for different riders strengths and there is a points system in place that go to make up the league table.

There is also a one off race mid-season to see who will be the Club Champion.

Racing is open to all Club members and also to anyone that holds at least a Cycling Ireland ‘club competition’ license.

Points for the road race league are as follows;
